PhD in Neuropsychology and coordinator of the Neuropsychology Unit

 

Specialist in Clinical Psychology, expert in Neuropsychology and PhD from the Chicago Medical School (USA) where she completed postgraduate studies for 5 years after obtaining a ‘La Caixa’ grant. Since 1999 she has worked as a clinical neuropsychologist in the National Health System and since 2005 she has been leading the Neuropsychology Unit of the Germans Trias Neurology Service, which specialises in the neuropsychological assessment of adults with various neurological and neurosurgical pathologies. She also collaborates in several highly complex tertiary programs such as the interdisciplinary assessment of patients with Parkinson's disease, patients with refractory epilepsy who are candidates for surgery and performs the intraoperative assessment of language and other cognitive functions of patients with brain tumors in eloquent areas.

 

It has launched the implementation of a cognitive telerehabilitation program for patients with acquired brain damage. She supervises master's and doctoral students and is a collaborating teacher in various postgraduate programs in neuropsychology. She is a researcher in subsidised research projects on neuroanatomical and functional bases of cognitive impairment in patients with epilepsy, stroke, brain tumors, movement disorders and neurodegenerative diseases and in patients with other medical pathologies such as diabetes or cardiovascular diseases and on the beneficial effect of cognitive telerehabilitation in patients with neurological diseases. In 2018 she spent 2 months in the Department of Neurological Surgery of the University of California in San Francisco subsidized with the M-BAE grant of the Carlos III Health Institute to expand her experience with the intraoperative cognitive mapping of awake-mediated patients.
