Neurosciences Area at germans Trias Hospital

 

Neurology specialist (Hospital del Mar, Barcelona). Doctorate at Germans Trias. Trained in the neurosonology program at the Vall d’Hebron Hospital, and accredited by the Spanish Association of Neurology (SEN).During her stay at Hospital del Mar, she received a post-residency scholarship from the Municipal Health Care Institute (IMAS, in Spanish) for a project regarding cerebrovascular pathologies, which linked her to the neurovasculargroup at Hospital del Mar. With this group she actively collaborated in the start up and implementation of the Stroke Unit; revascularization treatments with endovenous thrombolysis; reachable watches specific for cerebrovascular pathologies; neurosonology lab; training sessions and clinical trials both for the acute phase and secondary prevention. As a result in 2006 she obtained a FIS 3 year scholarship as main researcher with the project Registre BasicMar: epidemiological study, serum bank and gene library of cerebrovascular disease in the Hospital del Mar health area, which generated multiple articles in publications of significance and continues to be applicable.

Since 2008, she has worked at the Stroke Unit at Germans Trias, a pioneering tertiary center for endovascular treatment. At the unit, she actively collaborates in the elaboration and update of its protocols, as well as neurointerventional protocols. In addition, she collaborated in the procurement of accreditation for the Stroke Unit by the Spanish Association of Neurology. Doctor Gomis is one of the on-call the physicians for endovascular treatment and teleictus at the hospitals included in the Catalan Institute of Health.
