Nucaru
Nucaru allows surgical professionals to have all the surgical nursing protocols in their pocket, making their work easier.
This project was led by nursing assistants: teaching assistant Cristina Casanovas and operating room nurses Esther Sauqué, Patricia Jimenez, and Elisenda Benedí; and was funded by the Barcelona College of Nursing (COIB).
Through an app, professionals can see the protocol required for their next intervention and prepare to maintain quality and patient safety.
All protocols and content, including scales, have been validated by the Germans Trias Hospital, a public hospital in the Catalan healthcare system.
Information can be searched from three different areas: nursing, nursing assistant, or orderly. It can also be searched by location or time of surgery: preparation, pre-surgery, or during surgery.
It also has a questions section to assess the content learned.
To carry out the project, all operating room nurses participated, preparing protocols for generating knowledge, communication, information systems, and the Digital Transformation and Health Department.
