Doctor in Medicine and Surgery. Specialist in Microbiology and Parasitology. Member of the CIBER Respiratory Diseases. Undergraduate and postgraduate professor of medical Microbiology and parasitology of the Medical and Biomedical Science schools of UAB. 

He does research into tuberculosis: the Experimental Tuberculosis Unit (UTE) is dedicated to the study of latent tuberculosis infection and its evolution to an active disease by means of experimental in vitro, in vivo and in silico models. The UTE is formed by an expert team in evaluating new prophylactic and therapeutic strategies against tuberculosis, and in the design, characterization and evaluation of experimental animal models
