UEC a l'Hospital Germans Trias

Germans Trias Hospital is accredited with two UECs, or Clinical Expertise Units: UEC Neuromuscular Diseases and UEC Rare Diseases with epilepsy.

 

UEC Neuromuscular diseases

 

Germans Trias i Pujol University Hospital, together with Institut Guttmann, offers a specialist service through the Comprehensive Care Unit for Neuromuscular Diseases. This unit is designed to provide comprehensive and adapted care for patients suffering rare neuromuscular diseases, as well as their families, with the aim of ensuring optimal and effective treatment.

 

 

The range of services offered by this unit includes the following areas of specialisation:

  • Functional unit for patients with post-polio syndrome.

  • Multidisciplinary consultations for motor neurone disease (ALS).

  • Treatment of Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

  • Multidisciplinary consultations for neuromuscular diseases, including myotonic dystrophy, glycogenoses, and other similar pathologies.

  • Home care service implemented by the EASE (specialist care and support) team. This aim of this service is to provide personalised, quality care directly in the patients' homes, thereby guaranteeing continuity of care and comprehensive support.
